

Every race has anywhere from 0 to 7 rivals. "Rival" Chao are those that appear in the same race consistently with the same stats and appearance. A Chao must excel in all stats to beat this strong Devil Chao. This race follows the same course as the Garnet Jewel Race, which requires a Chao to excel in Power, along with a high enough Run stat, to emerge victorious.Ī 1-on-1 race against a Devil Chao, along the Diamond Jewel Race. This race follows the same course as the Diamond Jewel Race, and requires a Chao to excel in all stats to succeed, especially Run and Stamina.Ī race against various Dark Chao with skull hats. This race follows the same course as the Peridot Jewel Race, only testing a Chao's Run and Stamina stats.Ī race against various Dark Chao.

To wear the Hero Medal again, the Chao must complete the fourth Hero Race course again.Ī race against Dark aligned child Chao, along various Gradual Evolution paths. When a Chao completes the final Hero Race course the Chao will receive the Hero Medal, which it will wear until it wins another medal. Winning the second race will provide a ball for Chao to kick and chase, and winning the fourth race will provide a rocking horse toy for Chao to ride Unlike the prizes for the Beginner and Jewel Races, the prizes for these races are unlocked for the whole of the Hero Garden and allow several Chao to play with them at a time. Every race is against various Dark Chao, and the races take place in a Dark Garden-like version of the normal Chao Race courses, complete with Dark Garden-like music, dead trees, and tombstones. Hero Races only allow unevolved, Neutral, or Hero Chao to enter- Dark Chao may not enter the race. The Hero Races include four races, along various courses taken from the Jewel Races. Hero Races are a category of Chao Races in Sonic Adventure 2 which are unlocked after finishing all of the Beginner Races, and having unlocked the Hero Garden by evolving a Hero Chao.
